artist statement:

Art and the creation of artwork are difficult for me to explain. Many people ask me why I create sculptures. When answering these inquires I seem to always come up with different reasons. I believe that every person needs a creative outlet. There needs to be a way to turn ones creativity into something that can be experienced by others. My method is to transform steel into objects of conversation.
From an early age I was exposed to various types of art. It wasn't until my mid twenties that I felt a need to turn my creativity into an expression. Throughout my life, I have always been interested in mechanical things. Since my teens, I have also been involved in metal fabrication. I decided to marry these two interests along with my fascination with simple shapes, forms and minimalist art.
My work is an experimentation with shape, form and simplicity. I always strive to make seamless pieces that look as if they have been cut from a block of steel.
